COMMENTS
June Wayne’s friendship with Louise Nevelson spanned several decades. Nevelson was a fellow with other distinguished artists at Tamarind Lithography Workshop in the 1960’s. Wayne and Nevelson enjoyed many adventures together, including a memorable trip to Abiquiú to visit their mutual friend Georgia O’Keeffe.
“I made “Goodbye Louisie” in honor of Louise Nevelson, on the occasion of her death. It’s… a little print, quite small. I don’t think that mourning is something for big gestures.”
