COMMENTS
The color gold may be the last of the palette one imagines in the context of earthquakes. June Wayne, however, uses gold leaf to scale up the tectonic plates.

Gold has been associated since classical times with royalty, and the precious and rare. Wayne deploys it here, paying proper respect to the immense power and destructiveness latent in nature.
