A forged iron gong dating to the 19th century. It features an extended forged iron handle in the shape of a stylized snake or bird head with two hot forged rivets. The gong was formed in two parts with one edge folded over the other. While it was employed as currency it was also used in ritual. Resonating sound when struck.
