Naga Northeast India Brass Headhunter Armlet

A Naga prestige armlet of heavy coiled brass. This metal was highly valued by the indigenous tribes of North East India, and the piece shows fine surface patination, indication of having been treasured for several generations. It dates from a time of active headhunting and would have been worn by a warrior who had taken heads, or their immediate family.

Excellent condition. Northeast India. Mid to late 19th century.
