A rare and seldom seen mask from a remote area of Papua New Guinea. A similar mask, from an initiation costume, collected by Stanley Moriarty and featured in an exhibit at the Art Gallery of New South Wales is also illustrated for context. The work emanates a spirit from a culture which few have ever known firsthand.
